Catfish Grabblin DVD’s

The other day I wrote an article about noodling, and have since received a number of emails through our ask a catfishing question page about noodling and catfish grabblin.

I ended up speaking with the folks over at Catfish Grabblers who make the Catfish Grabblin video series.

The next thing I know I have a great big box of DVD’s in my mailbox. I opened the box up to find a huge stack of DVD’s including Catfish Grabblin, Girls Gone Grabblin and Girls Gone Grabblin 2.

After getting a number of “interesting” looks from the wife (after her seeing Girls Gone Grabblin) and a lengthy conversation about them actually being videos about noodling and not what I am absolutely certain she was thinking it was (I am sure I don’t have to elaborate).

I dug into the videos and started checking them out. Here is a basic rundown on the video series:

Catfish Grabblin – 60 minutes and 20 of the best scenes from years of grabbling and you’ll discover the art & tradition of catching catfish with your hands. You’ll be beside yourself as you watch men, women, and children pulling monster catfish (weighing up to 50lbs!) out of their holes and wrestling them to the bank.

Girls Gone Grabblin – Be one of the first to watch & be amazed as 35 Southern Women bring you the thrill of catching catfish weighing up to 44lbs. with their hands and wrestling them to the bank. This video of catfish grabblin has more than 30 exciting scenes to keep you, your family & friends amused and entertained for years to come. This DVD includes a catfish grabblin’ 101 segment to help newcomers to the sport. Also has hilarious outtakes. The video also includes a very special music video performed by Stacy Wilson for Catfish Grabblers.

Girls Gone Grabblin 2 – Women, Water, and monster catfish. Watch more than 40 women – with over 30 new faces – do battle with these enormous creatures of the deep! See these ladies dive blindly into the dark murky waters and reach back in hidden crevices where one or more catfish lie in wait. Be astonished, as they pull out huge, angry, splashing catfish. Sometimes the ladies win and sometimes the fish win, but either way it’s a spectacular event. Be shocked and amazed as women pull out catfish half their size. View the strength of a 50+ lb. frenzied catfish as it throws 3 women around like they were rag dolls. This is a showcase of outdoor activity and fun that the entire family can watch and enjoy. It is a video that you will watch over and over again as you share it with your friends and family.  Over 40 scenes, also featuring eerie and suspenseful night scenes.

So after I dig through this pile of DVD’s I told the wife I was going to get a video camera and take her out to the lake and make a Texas Girls DVD, and she replied with a look that was even worse than the look I got when I laid the DVD’s down on the kitchen table. I guess my DVD is not going to happen.

Here is a sample of the video.

I sat down tonight and watched about 15 minutes of one DVD and enjoyed it but just had too much going on to get through the whole thing so I will have to keep working away at it in pieces.

Now, I have this great big box of DVD’s and need to get rid of some of them so I am going to give some away. Make sure you are signed up for our newsletter and our daily feed and then reply to this post below and I will enter you to win a copy of one of these videos.

Met a guy here in Arkansas about a month back who says he loves noodling & encourages every “Cat Man” to give it a try. Problem with meeting him was when I shook his hand he had no finger tips on his right hand. I asked what the cause of that was he said every now and again you find a turtle or a beaver in the hole not a catfish.

UMM NO THANKS I’ll stick to my juggs, Trotlines, & rods!

I have been invited many times by some of the best but I am like you, just cannot get over the thought of a turtle, beaver, or worse.
