Catfishing Month In Review – June 2011 Edition

This is the monthly wrap up of all the articles, videos, podcasts and other information from Learn To Catch Catfish for the month of June 2011 as well as a look back at previous information from last year at this time.

Before I get too deep into this past months events, we have a survey that we just put online. It’s just a few quick questions so I can get some more information about the great people who visit this site and get a better idea of what type of information you are looking for. It has been a crazy few weeks around here trying to keep up with everything and get the Secret Catfish Rig and Summer Channel Catfish books online and available for everyone. I had a nice neat schedule all planned out for what I was going to do for articles and for episodes of Catfishing Radio for this month and my plans got blown out of the water.

Between trying to get the books online and the catch of the new 143 lb world record blue catfish, my plans all kind of went down the drain and I had to adapt and overcome.  Getting the interview in Catfishing Radio Episode 6 with the guy that caught the new world record was a great deal though and I was glad that I was able to share that story.

Learn To Catch Catfish Hats and T-Shirts

I have been getting questions almost daily about the Learn To Catch Catfish shirts and hats. They are done and sitting here in my floor, have been for weeks. I have been so wrapped up with everything else I have not had time to figure out how to get them online, but will be doing so soon.

The Books

We released two diffferent ebooks this month, and talked a lot about them in one of the episodes of Catfishing Radio also. Here is some more information on the books.

This Month On Learn To Catch Catfish

Catfishing Radio Episode 6 – Episode 6 of Catfishing Radio covered the Secret Catfish Rig and the Summer Channel Catfish eBook and some details on why I was beginning to release paid products through the website. After discussing these upcoming eBooks we went into some question and answers and covered, weather effects on catfish, fishing with a bare hook, digger anchors, some catfish reel talk and brush grippers, as well as a number of other topics.

Catfishing Radio Episode 7 – Episode 7 was an depth look at fishing line for catfish. From braid to monofilament, how to decide which one to use, what lb test to use, why I prefer high visibility fishing line and more everything you need to know about choosing fishing line for catfish is in this show.

Frozen Shad – The Do’s and Don’ts – This is a guide on freezing shad for catfish bait. Shad is an incredibly effective bait for blue catfish and the preferred bait for most anglers that target blue catfish. It can be difficult to catch and times and therefore many people choose to freeze it. This article talks all about different methods of freezing and how freezing natural catfish baits effects them and how well they work. 143 Lb World Record Catfish – This was the breaking news story on the 143 Lb World record blue catfish. Amazing catch, not much more I can say about it.

Catfishing Radio Episode 8 – Catfishing Radio episide 8 was an interview with Nick Anderson. Nick is the high school football coach that caught the 143 lb world record blue catfish fishing at Buggs Island Lake in Virginia. Nick told the story of the events leading up to catching the world record (and new Virgina state record) as well as what happened when he hooked him, and the process of trying to get the fish certified.

Catfishing Radio Episode 9 – Episode 9 was a RAPID FIRE QUESTION AND ANSWER SHOW. I covered 17 questions submitted through the ask a question page in a very short time.
