Free Fishing Rod – Enter To Win

summer channel catfish

Berkley Reflex Catfish Fishing RodsWe are running a free contest here at LearnToCatchCatfish.com the month of March for some free catfish fishing rods.

The rods are Berkley Reflex rods, They are 8 foot MH action two piece casting rods, still new in the plastic.

We will be giving away these fishing rods to a lucky winner (the winner gets one new fishing rod ).

As an added bonus, just because I am a super nice guy (actually it is because I am trying to clean up my garage and workshop) I will kick in an extra fishing rod (if you want it) to the winner, which will also be Berkley Reflex 8′ MH casting rod.  The only kicker here is the winner will get one new Berkley Reflex fishing rod, the second, should you choose to take it, will have been used a few times. The “used” rods are still in 100% excellent condition, handles, line guides and all. They are just a little discolored in a few places from being in the sun and the cork is discolored a bit.

If you just want the new rod then all you have to do is let me know (when you get picked) and I will ship you the new fishing rod. If you want them both then I will throw one of the other fishing rods in the package also.

The contest winner will be announced  on a post on 4/1/2010.

(While I am at it, if anyone is interested in buying a bunch of these used 8′ and 9′ Berkley Reflex fishing rods that is local to DFW email me and I will sell them to you and put that money towards some April prizes for the website.) If I don’t get rid of them I will have to find some other creative way to get rid of them.

Anyway, this is what you have to do to enter to win the free fishing rods:

  1. What species do you like to fish for (blue, channel, or flathead catfish)?
  2. What is your favorite lake?

That’s it! Once you complete these two steps you are entered to win. You must complete both steps though including subscribing, verifying your email address, and responding to the post. It will take you a couple of minutes but let’s face it, who else is giving you free rods?

We are going to leave the contest open all month and will pick the winner on the first day of April and post it on the website (and no it is NOT an April Fools Day joke).

There is no purchase necessary, no gimmicks, no tricks etc.

We have a number of other free prizes in the works for our readers so make sure you keep reading on a regular basis and pay close attention to our posts. In the future some of the free prize drawings will not be as obvious as this one so you might have to be on the lookout for it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I have fished Grapevine for years for white bass. But these last few years I have seen some awesome catches of catfish from this lake and would like to start getting into it. Most of my catfishing has been river fishing.

Where are some of the best places on Grapevine for catfish?

All Cats fun but pound for pound I like flatheads for the fight, but then again there is that first look of a huge blueee comeing up under yer boat little can compare.

Here in Kentucky(have only been here a few short years) I find the best fishing for fiesty rock diveing Flattys in the Barron River.

But back in Washington State where the family ended up (Army brat)
Harts lake has many very large 20#to 30#Channel Cats (monsters for that part of the country)

But there seems to be some good cats all over the world cuzz we caught them where ever the Army(as Kid)or the Navy (my time active)

Will be ordering me some of that Redneck fishin soap sounds like it just might what I been looking for these past 50 years plus of fishing

Good fishing all and many a “FISH ON”
Dragggon (yep it my real legal name)

willing to pay extra postage for extra rod if I win have family coming in town to go fishing this summer

Hi there, i like to catch Blues and Channel. The Arkansas River and the Mississippi River are my favorite choices for catching them. (I never was very excited about lake fishing.) Growing up i lived just down the road from the Arkansas River , so everyday i got a chance you could find me there. I had a Zebco 202 so i never really had a chance to catch anything. I grew up, got married, had children and stopped fishing. Now our children are grown. So me and the wife decided to go fishing one saturday, and my life is so much better, I was 13years old all over again, but this time i have the equipment to catch some catfish. but i could always use two new rods.

I mainly fish for Blues on Cedar Creek on rod and reel, catching fresh shad and then cutting them up for bait this time of year and with my fishing partner, we have been catching over 40 or more every week-end since mid Febuary this year. I like the windy days, but for our safety I will not take any of my friends out when the wind gets above 25 mph or more. Been finding good shad in the coves from 7′ to 14′.

I will be spending some time this year on Tawakoni to learn another lake, but the old saying is “if it is not broken, don’t fix it”.

I met some guys back in the late 80′s on Grapevine using chicken blood and would like to know what they did to keep the bait on a single hook and bobber using cane pulls. they would reach into a 5 gallon bucket with there bare hands, squeeze it on the hook (looked like stringy snuff) and no sooner than it hit the water, they were catching a channel just that fast, walking along the rocky cliffs. I cannot remember what it all involved, except that it was chicken blood. Maybe some-one reading this will be able to respond.

Would be great to see some Catfishing Tournaments around our area as well.
