It seems like these days every time you turn on the news there’s something about someone spying on our communications and watching everything we do.
Now, if it wasn’t bad enough, Google doesn’t want you to catch catfish.
That takes the cake! To heck with the government listening to my phone calls when they start messing with the fishing all bets are off.
But this time it’s Google. If you use any other email provider you have nothing to worry about, just cruise on over and watch some of our catfishing videos for now.
If you use Gmail, you need to keep reading and make sure you fix this!
Attention Gmail Users
If you use Gmail for email we want you to be aware of some very important changes that Google has made to their Gmail email service that could impact you and the information you receive from us.
Most of you receive updates, notifications and the Catfishing Secrets newsletter from us by email and many of you use Gmail as your provider so we wanted to make you aware of these potential issues and also let you know how you can keep this from happening.
As mentioned the other day we are about to change the way you look at catfish fishing and in that process we’ll rely on email to make sure you are up to speed on all of those changes so now more than ever it’s important to make sure you are up to speed and getting all of our cool stuff.
If You Use Gmail, This Is What You Need To Know.
Google Is Sorting Your Emails For You
The new system is outlined below showing tabs at the top of your email in box when you login from a computer.
Note the “Primary”, “Social” and “Promotions” tabs across the top.
Catfishing Secrets Emails Can End Up In “Promotions”
The reason for this is because we “play by the rules” and use a mailing list service.
This keeps everything on the “up and up” and makes sure we only send emails to people that want to receive them.
That wouldn’t be cool.
What would be even more uncool was if you missed the catfishing tips and tricks we send out or some of the cool stuff we’re gathering up to give away.
The problem is that because we use a mailing list service to send information, Google wants to lump us in the bucket with all the “other stuff”.
Here’s How To Check, Then Catch More and Bigger Catfish
Click on the promotions tab and look for the emails from Chad Ferguson at Learn To Catch Catfish (email@example.com).
You can also type learntocatchcatfish.com in the Gmail search bar and it should pull up any emails from us.
Now You Can EASILY Fix This!
If you find our emails in this “promotions” tab then we need to get it fixed PRONTO!
Put your mouse over the email, click on it and hold the mouse button down.
Now drag that email over to the “primary” tab and take your finger off the mouse button.
Click the “primary” tab and the email should be in there now and future emails will end up there also!
That’s all there is to it! If you don’t use Gmail then there’s nothing to worry about!
