Olsen’s Pro Am Fishing Shop is a family owned bait and tackle store located in Fort Worth Texas, just off of Jacksboro Highway right on the border of the towns of Lake Worth and Sansom Park. They are a family owned and operated fishing tackle store and the largest fishing tackle store and bait shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (that I am aware of) that is not a “big box store”.

The store is strategically located within a short drive of Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake and one of the few places to get a wide selection of live bait anywhere in the Northeast Tarrant County area.

So why am I writing about a small mom and pop fishing tackle store in Fort Worth Texas?

Well there are a number of reasons, but first and foremost is that I hope if you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area you will stop in and check them out one of these days. They didn’t put me up to this, I just did it because I think it is a great place and I like to support local businesses.

I have been shopping at Olsen’s Pro Am Fishing Shop for as long as I can remember, even way back when they were in their old location right on Jacksboro Highway before they moved and have grow a serious liking for shopping in their store, and have become friends with the owner and employees over the years.

When I first decided to start putting Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap into stores, it was Olsen’s who were the first people to put it on their shelves, and they are now my largest distributor of the product.

When Bass Pro Shops opened in Grapevine I was really concerned that Olsen’s Pro Am Fishing Shop being the “little man” would be forced out of business and much to my surprise, they made it. When Cabela’s opened for business in North Fort Worth, I again feared the worst but yet again they made it. It’s the service, huge selection, live bait and many other factors that have allowed them to continue to thrive in the local market. On any given day you can go into Olsen’s and find a friendly face manning the counter or bagging up live bait in the store and always have someone standing there waiting to help you with whatever you may need.

Olsen’s Pro Am Fishing Shop has a HUGE variety of fishing tackle and catfish baits. I am not a big “lure” guy but I would venture to say that they have them all. They also have a wide selection of products for catfishing as well as just about every other species.

Olsen’s Pro Am Fishing Shop also sells live bait, from minnows, perch, black salty’s, live crawfish, goldfish, shad gizzards, shrimp, frozen shad  to worms, you name it, they probably have it and ton’s of it.

They also sell fishing reels parts and offer reel cleaning and rod repair as well.
