The Learn To Catch Catfish Catfishing Month In Review – June 2010
Where I have Been
Sorry things have been a bit quiet around here the past week.
After all of the complaints about video quality with my videos being blurry and the sound quality issues etc I asked my family to get me a new video camera for fathers day, which they did. They got me a great new Kodak ZI8 Digital Video Camera, a lapel microphone, a tripod and a nifty little tripod that I can use to attach the camera to pretty much anything (even the boat). I made a couple of short videos to test out the camera and when I hooked it up to my computer things went downhill quickly (think of a really bad backlash but with a computer instead of a fishing reel).
The good news is that I have a nifty new Kodak ZI8 Digital Video Camera, a tripod, microphone and all the fixings but the bad news is that my computer is trashed and I was unable to get the “backlash” out so the folks who worked on it are telling my it is time for it to be retired, so I am somewhat limited in what I can do with the computer right now. I hope to have it all worked out in the next few days (and I even made a nifty little light to help improve the lighting quality of the videos).
In addition to all this I realized early this month that I had made a major error with the website setup and had to go back and make some revisions to all of the archives to correct all of these issues which was time consuming to say the least.
Questions About Posts
I have had a number of questions about the “catfishing pages” that I had added that disappeared. That was part of the issue with the problems mentioned about that I had to go back and address. These pages didn’t go away they have just been moved, so the information is still out there, it is just the the address of the pages changed. You can find them through the navigation links at the top of the page and also through the archives.
I have also had several questions about “bumping” old posts and why that has happened. Anytime I have made a significant update to any of the articles I have been bumping them back up to the top. This was the case with several of the catfishing rigs articles like the articles on the Santee Rig and some of the others where I had added videos.

Ask A Question
I have received a few emails about the “ask a question” for and people wanting to know what is going on and why I have not responded to their questions. I promise that I am receiving all the emails through the ask a catfishing question page, and that I have them and will ultimately respond to each and every one of them. It just takes time. I also read every single comment and attempt to respond to all of these as well.
This is a very busy time of year for me with my catfish bait and jugline business as well as my guide business so I get spread a little thin. Once I get caught up and get the basic framework in place here on the site it should be much easier (and faster) for me to respond to these questions.
I am also trying to write articles and respond to things that are topical for this time of year as well as the style of fishing I use for this time of year. It is a lot easier for me to write about things that are fresh on my mind or that I am doing right now (as well as take photos and videos) since I am living it real time, versus responding to a question about catching catfish in January in the middle of the summer.
I have been approached about another option for information sharing that I am looking into. If I decide to move forward with this I will post something on the website.

Chad man you work way to hard but i tell you this website is great and maybe i will see you out on EM sometime have not been out in about two weeks work keeps getting in the way. Keep up the good work man.
Chad – I find your comments and articles very interesting and informative. I am in the Houston area and mostly fish Lake Houston for Whitebass, Crappie, Bluegill and Catfish. I fished the LMB tournaments for 35 years and got tired of it so now I fish for anything other than LMB and YES, I’m having 150% more fun.
You have a very good website and keep it up. I belong to a website here fishingtx.com. (Lou the fisherman)
We have a very good friend in Jackie Kennedy who guides at Lake Fairfield for both Catfish and Reds. Super nice guy.
