Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap History was posted. This is the history of my company and how I accidentally got into the bait business. I know I got a little overzealous with the posts about it but I get busy and sometimes have to roll with what I have ready as I don’t always have time to write new posts. I promise I am not going to start plastering every post on this blog with advertisements but there will be posts and mentions because at the end of the day I have to be able to pay to support this website.
Catfishing around cormorant roosts was posted. This was in response to a readers question about cormorant catfishing, splat fishing, fishing water turkey roosts or whatever you want to call it. This was just a brief post on this subject and I will be posting more information another time.
How to cut Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap was posted this is a video.
What is catfish chum was posted which gives an overview of what chum is. I will be putting a bunch of information up about this in the future.

From The Dallas Morning News – Catfish Coming In Record Numbers - Texas Parks and Wildlife has certified a Lake Tawakoni blue caught by Jered Mounger on Jan. 22 as that lake’s catch-and-release record for the species. Mounger, of Blue Ridge, used cut bait to trick the 50-inch-long catfish that weighed 73.70 pounds. C&R records are based on the length of the fish. Mounger was scouting the lake east of Dallas in preparation for this weekend’s Cabela’s King Kat Classic tournament.
On Jan. 29, Colton Austin, 13, of New Braunfels canght and released a Junior State Record C&R blue catfish from Tawakoni that measured 48.38 inches.
The young angler was fishing with his father, Ray Austin, who also was scouting for the tournament.
Austin’s fish is also the C&R junior lake record.
