This is our free prize drawing for the Bobber With A Brain, a couple of announcements and some other general information.

The Newsletter and Feed Subscription

There seems to be some confusion on the newsletter and feed subscription, so I want to clarify a few things.

What Is The Newsletter

Basically, when you sign up for the newsletter you you are giving us your email address and giving us permission to send you emails. By signing up for the newsletter you will receive an occasional email from us, probably no more than once per week if that. I started the newsletter over a month ago and so far have sent ONE email through it.

To be eligible for any contest you will have to be subscribed to the newsletter.

At some point, I am going to offer some exclusive content through the newsletter. This will be information that is only available to newsletter subscribers and nobody else or it may be that I give that information to the newsletter subscribers first. I have a big pile of free stuff I need to give away and on occasion I will be sending out an email just to the folks on the newsletter and give the stuff to them. One example of this is my post about catfishing with a baseball bat. When I get that next video about catfishing with a baseball bat made, I am going to shoot it out to the newsletter subscribers.

When you give us your email address we are not going to sell or share it. You can read our privacy policy here.

If at any point you don’t want to receive emails from us, you just click the unsubscribe link in your email and you are done.

What Is The Feed

If you look at the top right hand side of your screen you will see a box that looks like this.

When you type your email in here you will get an email from us asking you to verify that you signed up. Once you do this, you will get daily emails (1 per day) whenever we add new posts. This is so you can read the posts when we add information and you don’t have to remember to come back and check out the site.

Same goes with the feed subscription (which is managed by Google).  When you give us your email address we are not going to sell or share it. You can read our privacy policy here.

If at any point you don’t want to receive emails from us, you just click the unsubscribe link in your email and you are done.

So what is the benefit of signing up for the feed? Well, at some point I will be giving away some prizes that are ONLY for visitors who are signed up for the feed. For example I might make a post saying hey, I am giving away this new catfish boat, post here if you want it and you must be a visitor who has been signed up for our feed you type a comment in that you want it. I verify that you have been signed up for the feed (I can tell by your email address the date and time you signed up) and now you have a new catfishing boat!

You can also subscribe by RSS. If you know what RSS then you probably know how to sign up. If you don’t know what RSS is then you should probably just sign up by email.

That is the deal. Again on the feed also if at any point you don’t want to receive emails from us, you just click the unsubscribe link in your email and you are done.

Article Comments

I have received a bunch of emails from folks trying to comment on an article and they are getting an error message. We know it is an issue. Even if you get an error message your comment will post.

We know what the issue is now we just need to figure out how to fix it. I have some folks working on it but it just takes time.

If you have never commented on an article before, your comment will not appear immediately. It gets held for approval. This is just a means to keep spammers at bay. Currently the website gets about 50 posts a day with links to some pretty nasty stuff and we don’t want that slipping through so that is why it is like that. Once we approve a comment from you it will be smooth sailing from then on.

Free Prizes

I am getting bombarded with emails about prizes and what I am going ton give away. I have a ton of stuff and will get to it in due time BUT I hope you are hear because we are providing valuable information to you and you enjoy reading the information and NOT because you want to get free stuff, hopefully that is just an added bonus!

We have some big things in the works here and we really hope you will stick around and keep coming back!

The other day we announced we would be giving away some free Bobber With A Brain Fishing Bobbers. I was supposed to announce the winner on Friday and in all honesty COMPLETELY forgot. I have been running around like a mad man the last few days.

The contest winner is DUCK.

How was the winner chosen? My daughter picked it and I think it was probably because she liked the name DUCK!
